Myron and Phils

I went to one of my favorite restaurants tonight, an oldie, Myron and Phil’s in Lincolnwood. I have been going there for 25 years, and I can’t remember ever having to send a meal back or have a charge removed from my bill.

Welllllll, tonight was the first and it was quite funny. I was running late, so I called ahead to put in my order before the kitchen closed. They have had a special lately, a butt steak on a bed of mashed potatoes in a wine sauce with mushrooms. Really good and I was anticipating a great meal. When I got there, my dinner was almost ready, but first I had a few items that they offer with all there meals, cole slaw and some fresh veggies.

Little did I know that what I ordered was a special from last week, so when they brought it to my table they threw a butt steak on some mashed potatoes with no sauce and a side of aujus. Without the wine sauce the meal looked very silly, how many times have you had a steak and mashed potatoes with the steak on top??? NEVER!!! SO, NOT ONLY DID IT LOOK RIDICULOUS, IT WAS NOT WHAT I ORDERED! Being the asshole know it all that I am, I called over the waitress and explained my displeasure. She fell all over me with apologies and wenT to the chef. He said he could not make the sauce but he would make something that would be great.

While my steak was getting cold, she then brought a sauce that was thick with what I thought was mushrooms, so I put it on my steak. Little did I know it was capers and I HATE CAPERS. I took one taste and it was awful, but being the wonderful customer that I am I ate it. [never met a meal I didn't like]

Chalked it up to “so what,” and ordered some ice creme. I love very very hard ice creme, so I like to chew it and I hate soft serve or soft regular ice creme. I was the last customer and I assumed that the ice creme would be hard because no one was opening the freezer to soften it up. So, I did not ask if it was hard as I would have normally done. My two scoops game and I dug in fast and hard but to my dismay it was so soft I couldn’t stop crying.. I still protected my friend the owner and did not complain, but this I did not eat! Nothing can make me eat soft ice creme!

Moral to the story, eat there every night and I will lose all the weight I need too. LOL
